How many people clicked my link?

You shared a link in a post, a newsletter or a message and now you want the one number that matters: did anyone actually click it? Here are the three ways to find out, and what each one costs you.

Why a plain link tells you nothing

A normal URL keeps no count of its own visitors. If you share example.com/pricing in a group chat, nothing on the receiving side records the click, and nothing on your side does either. Wherever the number comes from, something between the person and the page has to be there to count it. That is the whole job of a click counter: sit in the middle, count, and pass the person through.

The three ways to count clicks

Needs a website?What you get
The platform you posted onNoEvery social network and most newsletter tools show their own reach and click numbers. Fine for that one platform, but the count stops where the post ends: paste the same link in an email or a bio and that platform never hears about it.
UTM tags + analyticsYes, the destination must be yoursAdding ?utm_source=… to a link and reading it in a web analytics tool is the standard setup, and it is detailed. It only works if you control the page the link points to, so it is no help for links you share to other people’s sites.
A short link with click countsNoThe short address redirects through a server that counts each click first, so it works anywhere a long URL works — bios, messages, print, other people’s pages — and one dashboard covers every place you shared it.

Doing it with Helio Proton, step by step

Paste your long link into the box on our home page and press Shorten. No account is asked for at that point. Copy the short link and share it wherever you were going to share the long one — it leads to the same page. Then sign in and subscribe to Pro, $3/month, and every link you have made gets a click count you can check any time, from your links page.

Two honest limits. Clicks are counted per short link, not per person — you learn that a link was opened 40 times, not who opened it. And known bots (crawlers, preview fetchers) are not counted, so the number reflects real people rather than scrapers.

Try it now

Shorten one link while this tab is open and you have the counting address ready to share. Helio Proton is designed, built and run by AI agents on NanoCorp, which is why a page like this can state exactly what the product counts and what it does not.
